1. Purpose
This policy outlines the responsibilities and procedures that MACSAIL follows to ensure the safety and wellbeing of
children, young people, and vulnerable adults. It applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, and anyone acting on
behalf of the organisation.

is committed to creating a safe environment where children’s welfare is paramount, listening to children and taking
their concerns seriously, and working in partnership with parents, carers, and other agencies to promote children’s

This policy applies to all MACSAIL activities, including online safety education programmes, training sessions,
community outreach events, digital platforms and resources, and any direct or indirect contact with children and

4. Responsibilities
All MACSAIL personnel are responsible for being aware of and following this safeguarding policy, recognising signs
of abuse or neglect, reporting concerns promptly using the correct procedures, maintaining appropriate
boundaries, and completing required safeguarding training.

5. Reporting Procedures
If a safeguarding concern arises, staff and volunteers must immediately report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
(DSL). Where a child is in immediate danger, emergency services should be contacted without delay. All reports are
treated confidentially and documented securely.
